Sprinkler System Warranty Information
To keep warranty valid. Orion Maintenance & Installation must start up and winterize the system.

Orion Maintenance & Installation: Warranty Policy
At Orion Maintenance & Installation, we stand behind the quality of our workmanship. Our goal is to provide dependable service and quality installations while giving our customers clear expectations regarding warranty coverage.
The following Limited Workmanship Warranty applies to work performed by Orion Maintenance & Installation unless a different warranty is specifically stated in writing on your proposal, contract, or invoice.
1. One-Year Workmanship Warranty
Orion Maintenance & Installation warrants that our workmanship will be free from defects under normal use for the purpose for which the work was intended for a period of one (1) year from the date of substantial completion of the work.
This warranty applies to workmanship performed by Orion.
If a covered workmanship defect occurs during the applicable warranty period, Orion will, at our discretion, inspect and repair or correct the defective workmanship or replace the defective work.
Repair or correction of the covered defective workmanship is the customer's exclusive remedy under this Limited Workmanship Warranty, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
2. Customer Inspection & Seven-Day Notice
Customers are responsible for reviewing the completed work after the service or installation has been performed.
If you notice any visible defect, concern, damage, or issue with the work, please notify Orion in writing within seven (7) calendar days of completion of the work.
Providing prompt notice gives us the opportunity to investigate the concern and, when appropriate, correct the issue.
Warranty notices should include a description of the concern and, when reasonably possible, photographs or other information that will help us understand the issue.
Failure to provide timely notice of a readily observable condition may limit warranty coverage to the extent permitted by applicable law
Nothing in this policy is intended to waive or eliminate any warranty rights that cannot legally be waived or limited.
3. Final Walk-Through & Customer Availability
Whenever reasonably possible, customers are encouraged to be present when work is completed so that our technician can perform a final walk-through, explain the work performed, demonstrate equipment or controls, answer questions, and address any immediately apparent concerns.
If a customer is not present during the appointment, leaves before the work is completed, or is otherwise unavailable for the final walk-through, the customer acknowledges that the work may be completed without an in-person final inspection or walk-through.
Customers who are not present are responsible for reviewing the completed work as soon as reasonably possible and notifying Orion of any concerns in accordance with this warranty policy.
Return Visits
If a customer was not present for the scheduled appointment and subsequently requests that Orion return solely to review, demonstrate, explain, or address a concern that could reasonably have been identified or discussed during the final walk-through, a standard service-call or diagnostic fee may apply.
However, if Orion determines that the return visit is necessary to correct a covered workmanship defect, the applicable warranty will apply and the service-call fee will not be charged for that covered warranty repair.
A customer's absence from the property does not, by itself, eliminate a valid warranty claim that is otherwise covered by this policy.
4. What Is Not Covered
Our workmanship warranty does not cover problems caused by circumstances outside of Orion's workmanship, including:
Customer abuse, misuse, neglect, or intentional damage.
Failure to properly operate or maintain equipment or systems.
Failure to follow instructions provided by Orion or the equipment manufacturer.
Unauthorized repairs, modifications, alterations, or adjustments.
Work performed or modified by another contractor or service provider.
Normal wear and tear.
Rust, corrosion, deterioration, or environmental conditions.
Freezing, flooding, fire, lightning, storms, power surges, electrical abnormalities, or other events beyond Orion's reasonable control.
Damage caused by animals, pests, insects, or other outside forces.
Pre-existing conditions, defects, deterioration, or improperly installed components that were not caused by Orion.
Failure of existing equipment, components, valves, piping, wiring, controls, or other property not installed by Orion.
Failure to perform required maintenance.
Use of equipment or systems for purposes other than their intended use.
Changes to the property or system after Orion's work has been completed.
Conditions or failures resulting from circumstances beyond Orion's reasonable control.
5. Manufacturer Warranties
Products, equipment, parts, components, and materials supplied by manufacturers are subject to the applicable manufacturer's warranty, if any.
Orion's workmanship warranty covers our installation workmanship; it does not replace or extend a manufacturer's warranty.
When applicable, Orion may assist customers with a manufacturer's warranty claim. However, Orion cannot guarantee that a manufacturer will approve a warranty claim, replace a product, reimburse a customer, or provide any particular remedy.
6. Pre-Existing Conditions
Orion is not responsible for conditions that existed before we performed our work.
This includes pre-existing defects, deterioration, improper installations, code violations, unsafe conditions, damaged components, or other problems that were not caused by Orion.
If our technician identifies a pre-existing condition that may affect the performance or longevity of the work, we may recommend corrective action.
7. Existing Valves & Components
Existing components can fail due to age, corrosion, deterioration, or other pre-existing conditions.
Orion is not responsible for damage, leakage, failure, or malfunction resulting from the condition or failure of pre-existing valves, gate valves, shut-off valves, piping, wiring, equipment, controls, or other system components that were not installed by Orion.
If an existing component must be operated, disconnected, adjusted, or disturbed to perform the requested work, Orion is not responsible for failure of that component caused by its age, condition, corrosion, deterioration, or other pre-existing condition.
8. Underground Utilities, Cables & Lines
Customers are responsible for identifying and disclosing the location of private or non-public underground utilities and facilities that may be affected by the work.
Orion is not responsible for damage to underground cables, wiring, irrigation lines, communication lines, low-voltage systems, invisible fencing, private utility lines, or other underground facilities that are not properly identified, disclosed, marked, or located before work begins.
9. Unauthorized Repairs or Modifications
Warranty coverage may be affected if another person or company performs repairs, modifications, alterations, adjustments, or other work on the installation after Orion has completed its work.
If third-party work causes or contributes to the alleged problem, that issue is not covered by Orion's workmanship warranty.
Orion must be given the first reasonable opportunity to inspect and correct an alleged warranty defect before another contractor is authorized to perform corrective work.
Orion is not responsible for costs charged by another contractor unless Orion has provided prior written authorization for those costs.
10. Access & Opportunity to Correct
Customers must provide Orion with reasonable access to the property and the affected work when a warranty inspection or repair is necessary.
Customers must provide Orion with a reasonable opportunity to inspect and correct a covered warranty issue before seeking reimbursement or hiring another contractor to perform corrective work, except when emergency circumstances reasonably require immediate action to protect persons or property.
Failure to provide reasonable access or an opportunity to inspect and correct an alleged defect may affect warranty coverage to the extent permitted by applicable law.
11. Warranty Claims
Warranty claims must be submitted to Orion in writing and should include:
Customer name
Service or property address
Date the work was performed
Description of the concern
Photographs or videos when reasonably available
Emergency issues may initially be reported by telephone. Orion may request that the customer subsequently provide written documentation.
Once a warranty claim is received, Orion will determine whether an inspection is necessary and will make reasonable efforts to schedule an appropriate service visit.
12. Right to Inspect & Cure
Orion must be given the opportunity to inspect any alleged warranty defect and, when appropriate, repair or correct the issue.
Customers should not authorize another contractor to perform warranty-related corrective work before Orion has had a reasonable opportunity to inspect and address the issue, except when immediate action is reasonably necessary because of an emergency.
13. Payment
Payment is always required in FULL as soon as the work for that day is completed. Any payment that is not received is subject to additional late fee's and legal action.
Unless otherwise required by applicable law, all undisputed amounts owed to Orion for completed work must be paid in accordance with the applicable invoice or contract.
A warranty claim does not automatically suspend the customer's obligation to pay undisputed amounts owed for completed work.
14. Transfer of Warranty
This Limited Workmanship Warranty is provided to the original customer who purchased the work from Orion Maintenance & Installation.
The warranty is not transferable to subsequent property owners, occupants, tenants, purchasers, or other parties unless Orion provides written authorization.
15. Limitations of Warranty
This policy describes Orion Maintenance & Installation's Limited Workmanship Warranty.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Orion does not provide warranties beyond those expressly stated in writing.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Orion disclaims implied warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
Nothing in this policy is intended to waive, eliminate, or limit any right or remedy that cannot legally be waived or limited under applicable law.
16. Limitation of Remedy
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Orion's obligation under this Limited Workmanship Warranty is limited to inspecting, repairing, correcting, or replacing covered defective workmanship, at Orion's option.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Orion shall not be responsible under this warranty for incidental, special, consequential, or indirect damages, including loss of use, lost profits, business interruption, or other economic losses.
17. Our Commitment to Our Customers
Our warranty policy is designed to provide a clear process for addressing legitimate workmanship concerns while allowing Orion the opportunity to inspect and correct issues related to our work.
If you have a concern about work performed by Orion Maintenance & Installation, please contact us promptly. We want the opportunity to understand the issue and work toward an appropriate resolution.

Winterization Warranty Information
***IMPORTANT — DRAIN CAP / FAUCET:
~LEAVE THE DRAIN CAP OFF / FAUCET OPEN FOR THE ENTIRE WINTER.
If water continues to drip from the drain for more than 24 hours after winterization, you may have a faulty shut-off valve. Call us immediately and DO NOT close the drain cap or faucet. A faulty shut-off valve may allow water to enter the irrigation system and could result in freeze damage.
If the shut-off valve is located inside the home and needs to be replaced, you will need to contact a licensed plumber. We do not perform repairs to interior plumbing.
~BACKFLOW CAP:
The backflow preventer cap will be removed during winterization and placed safely inside the customer’s irrigation controller faceplate for the winter. This protects the cap from weather exposure and helps prevent it from being lost. Please leave the cap inside the controller faceplate until the system is started up in the spring.
***Winterization Freeze Warranty Policy
Our winterization freeze warranty applies ONLY to the backflow preventer and does not cover sprinkler heads, irrigation lines, fittings, valves, or any other irrigation system components.
This warranty is subject to the following conditions:
~The warranty is valid only when Orion Maintenance & Installation, LLC starts the irrigation system in the spring following the winterization service.
~We do not warranty systems that have a gate valve shut-off or systems that do not have a functioning drain.
~The irrigation system must be functioning 100% correctly at the time of winterization. Any existing problems, leaks, defective components, or improperly functioning zones may prevent the system from qualifying for the warranty.
~The warranty is valid only for irrigation systems that are started and winterized by Orion Maintenance & Installation, LLC in consecutive seasons.
~Any changes, modifications, repairs, adjustments, or alterations made to any part of the irrigation system after winterization — including accidental changes — will void the warranty.
~All air compressors used during winterization are operated at our standard PSI rate. Orion Maintenance & Installation, LLC is not responsible for damage to sprinkler heads, irrigation lines, fittings, valves, or other irrigation components resulting from the use of the standard winterization PSI, pre-existing conditions, improper installation, age, deterioration, or defects within the irrigation system.
~No warranty is provided on sprinkler heads, irrigation lines, or other irrigation components. The warranty applies solely to the backflow preventer.
~Orion Maintenance & Installation, LLC is not responsible for damage caused by a defective interior shut-off valve, interior plumbing, or any failure of the customer’s plumbing system.
***All systems are winterized by using the sprinkler controller to operate each zone, rather than manually opening the individual valves. This is our standard procedure and helps prevent unnecessary wear and damage to the valves over time.
~If a system must be winterized through the valves due to a malfunctioning controller, system issue, or at the customer’s request, the winterization will be considered outside of our standard procedure and will not be covered under our winterization warranty.
By authorizing this service, the customer acknowledges and agrees to the winterization procedures, customer responsibilities, exclusions, and backflow-only warranty terms stated above.
